Dr. Katherine Tate
Professor, Political Science

Katherine Tate is Professor of Political Science at Brown University. Her Ph.D. in political science is from the University of Michigan. She has a B.A. in political science from the University of Chicago. Tate is the author, coauthor, and coeditor of a number of books including Concordance: Black Lawmaking in the U.S. Congress from Carter to Obama (University of Michigan Press, 2014).

Katherine researches and teaches in the areas of public opinion, public policy, ethnic and gender politics and studies legislation and the American political system. She is also is the author, coauthor, and coeditor of a number of books including Concordance: Black Lawmaking in the U.S. Congress from Carter to Obama.
